Check out this nice infographic put out by UNESCO on water, for World Water Day 2015 (which was March 22nd). The most alarming points are that the number of people without access to safe drinking water is now at 3 billion (the number remains at 2.5 billion without access to sanitation) and that 80% of the world's waste water is NOT treated. This graphic is attempting, and it is done well, to break down the scientific facts, contributing factors, and possible solutions.
